Lady Dan is Tyler Dozier, a singer-songwriter originally from Dothan, AL and now living in Austin, TX. Dozier turned to music after a few major turning points in her life. She was raised in a strict religious household, and was going to monastery school as she entered her twenties when she was forced to face the death of her father, and get out of a controlling relationship. All of that swirled together and turned into songs that became I Am The Prophet, her debut album. Download the song “Paradox” now.

Frontwoman Hannah Joy describes the inspiration behind “Questions”: “I used to drink a lot and most of my previous relationships revolved around this. I don’t think I ever really knew them or they me as a result. ‘Questions’ is about people being around each other but not being close. People who are in intimate relationships can stop asking questions of each other because they are uncomfortable and confusing.”
Dinosaur Jr. return with Sweep It Into Space, their new album out Friday on Jagjaguwar, and a new single, “I Ran Away.” Sweep It Into Space is their first new collection of music since 2016, continuing what is perhaps the greatest “second act” of any band ever. Jay Som’s Melina Duterte and Palehound’s Ellen Kempner have a new band called Bachelor. Bachelor’s debut is called Doomin’ Sun, and it’ll be out May 28th. The duo wrote and recorded Doomin’ Sun in Topanga, CA, in January of last year. It’s mostly the product of their individual songwriting approaches, but it also features collaborations with Big Thief members Buck Meek and James Krivchenia, as well as Chastity Belt’s Annie Truscott. The past year of lockdown and self-isolation might just be the longest time that the band Real Estate has ever spent off the road and away from each other, on Friday the will release their new EP, Half a Human. A collection of songs created between two different worlds. While the architecture of each was constructed during sessions for their 2020 album, The Main Thing, the tracks came to life when vocalist/guitarist Martin Courtney, bassist/vocalist Alex Bleeker, keyboardist Matt Kallman and guitarist Julian Lynch began trading the material back and forth remotely throughout the pandemic.
