He goes into detail on the single “Virginia,” and reveals the superstar he was trying to emulate in part of his performance. He also shares who he feels is the best songwriter in the band (it isn’t him), and the song that made him realize that.

For the past 5 years, we’ve watched The Head & The Heart blossom into household names amongst WTTS listeners (their last appearance in town was a sold-our “Rock To Read” benefit in 2013). Brett Dennen’s been coming to town since 2008. And newcomers Kaleo will be in Indy for the third time in eleven months (including a “WTTS First Experience” this past January).
WTTS Rock on the River is more than just a concert: It’s an experience. The night of the show, we’ll have very special prizes to give away from each of the bands. For Episode #26, it’s two shorter interviews with bands visiting this year, starting with The Head and the Heart, who play WTTS Rock On The River at TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park on Friday, September 30th. They’re one of our more prolific Sun King Studio 92 performers, and this interview was from their 2013 visit. Second, it’s a 2014 interview with St. Paul and the Broken Bones, who will support Fitz and the Tantrums on June 18th at TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park.

Big Head Todd & The Monsters dropped by Sun King Studio 92 on their way to their gig at The Vogue on August 19,2010. They talked to Paul about celebrating their back catalog (and vintage van) and the trials of losing key pieces of equipment on the road They also played an alliterative set including “Broken Hearted Savior,” “Beautiful,” “Beast of Burden,” and “Bittersweet” for a crowd of 92-3 VIP’s.
