Full disclosure, he’s a spokesperson for Maestro Dobel Tequila, so of course he has his own cocktail recipe, and it’s a spicy one…
Ingredients:
Instructions: Fill a shaker halfway with ice. Combine all ingredients (except jalapeño and salt) and shake. Strain into a salt-rimmed rocks glass and garnish with jalapeño slices and cilantro. Pair with fresh oysters and top with a small spoonful of caviar, or just enjoy as is!

Zucchini Muffins
Makes 12 muffins
2 large eggs, preferably omega-3 eggs, beaten
1⁄3 cup packed light brown sugar
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
3 cups grated fresh zucchini
2⁄3 cup canola oil, preferably expeller-pressed, plus more for greasing the muffin tins
2 teaspoons baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
3 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup golden raisins
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, brown sugar, and vanilla. Stir in the grated zucchini, canola oil, baking soda, and salt.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk the flour with the cinnamon and nutmeg. Add the dry ingredients to the zucchini mix and stir well. Finally, stir in the pecans and raisins.
4. Grease a 12-cup muffin tin with canola oil. Spoon the batter into the cups to fill them about 3/4 of the way. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick or small knife inserted in a muffin comes out clean. (Alternatively, spoon the batter into a 8 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes or until the top of the loaf cracks and a toothpick or small knife inserted in the center of the loaf comes out clean.)
5. Transfer the pan to a wire rack to cool for about 20 minutes. Then run a small paring knife around each muffin and remove them from the muffin tin.
This traditional Indian dish sounds delicious (though maybe a little complicated).
If you’re brave enough to tackle it, here’s the recipe:
Freddie Mercury’s Chicken Dhansak
2 tablespoons of channa, moong, and red lentils
4 tablespoons toor lentils
½ cup oil
1½ pounds of cubed boneless chicken
3 medium onions
2 cloves garlic
2 cups tinned (canned/chopped) tomatoes
1 medium aubergine (eggplant) chopped
1 large potato chopped
½ cup spinach (frozen)
Fresh coriander
Fresh mint
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 brown cardamom
5 cm (2 inches) cassia bark
½ teaspoon black mustard seeds
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon ground cumin
¼ teaspoon ground fenugreek seeds
½ teaspoon chili powder
Salt
To begin, wash the lentils and soak them overnight. Afterward, cook the lentils while frying meat until it’s brown. Once both the lentils and meat are ready, put them aside and combine the cumin, cardamom, cassia bark, and mustard with onions, garlic, and salt. After that mixture has browned, mix in tomatoes and other chopped vegetables before reincorporating the lentils. Add the meat and remaining spices, and cook for roughly 40 minutes before finishing off with mint and coriander. Chicken Dhansak is best served over plain boiled rice.
This is Eric Clapton’s personal recipe for this traditional British starter. This soup is good hot or cold.
Ingredients:
Instructions:
Peel and chop the cucumber and onion. Clean and chop the lettuce, mint, and parsley. Heat the butter in a saucepan and add lettuce, cucumber, onion, mint, and parsley. Stir until the butter is absorbed. Add stock, peas, sugar and season to taste with the salt and pepper. Simmer until the peas are soft. Pour into a blender and puree. Add the curry powder, milk and reheat.
Amy Winehouse particularly loved Caribbean food. It was once reported that Amy wouldn’t return home to the UK unless she could bring a Caribbean chef with her. Here’s a Jerk Chicken recipe she would’ve adored.
Amy Winehouse’s Jerk Chicken
½ cup malt vinegar (or white vinegar)
2 Tbsp dark rum
2 Scotch bonnet peppers (or habaneros), with seeds, chopped
1 red onion, chopped
4 green onion tops, chopped
1 Tbsp dried thyme or 2 Tbsp fresh thyme leaves, chopped
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
4 teaspoons ground allspice
4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
4 teaspoons ground nutmeg
4 teaspoons ground ginger
2 teaspoons molasses
1 (5- or 6-pound) roasting chicken, cut in half, lengthwise
½ cup lime juice
Salt and pepper
To begin, mix the vinegar, rum, peppers, onions, oil, thyme, spices, and molasses in a blender and pulse until mostly smooth. Then pour the mixture over chicken that’s been placed in a large plastic bag or baking dish and coated with the lime juice. Seal the bag or cover the dish and let the chicken sit overnight in the refrigerator. Remove the chicken from the marinade. Put the marinade in a small sauce pan and bring to a boil, lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. To cook the chicken, you can grill it or bake it in the oven, coating it with the marinade as you go. Once the chicken is thoroughly cooked, cut it into pieces and serve with black beans and rice.
