WTTS Rock On The River: The Revivalists

10 Comments 01 June 2017

Kick off the summer with live music that makes a difference here at home. It’s the return of WTTS Rock On The River, presented by Arni’s Restaurant. This summer’s benefit features The Revivalists, Robert Randolph & The Family Band and newcomers The Marcus King Band with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Indiana Children’s Wish Fund. The show happens (rain or shine) Friday, June 23rd at the Farm Bureau Insurance Lawn at White River State Park. Gates open at 5:30 and the music starts at 7:00.

The New Orleans based band The Revivalists have become a new WTTS favorite with their latest release, Men Amongst Mountains. Hear the band’s live performance in Sun King Studio 92 from 2015. Robert Randolph & The Family Band is a longtime favorite of WTTS. Robert’s playing of the slide guitar is legendary and draws inspiration from soul, gospel and blues music. The Marcus King Band may be new to the national spotlight, but the Greenville, South Carolina band packs a soulful punch. Listen to their Sun King Studio 92 performance from earlier this year.

Indiana Children's Wish Fund

Portions of the proceeds will be donated to the Indiana Children’s Wish Fund. Their mission is to put smiles on the faces of Indiana children who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness by making a dream come true. Their children have had to fight battles that children should not have to fight. These children go through treatments that make them sick for days on end. They forget what childhood is all about. Granting their wish gives these brave children something to look forward to and helps build strength and hope for their futures. Every child has the right to be loved, nurtured and to reach for a dream.

LOVE The Revivalists! I saw them at the Vogue…at the Beale St. Music Festival…this show…and then going to David Shaw’s Get Down in Ohio in Sept. Yeah, you might say I’ve turned into a Rev Head! 🙂 Can’t wait for Friday…this line up is fantastic!

Can’t wait. Having trouble locating venue info like when gates open, seating, if I can bring anything?

I am beyond excited for this show but I am concerned because the weather forecast is looking ominous. What is the policy for reschedule/cancellation when Tropical Storm Cindy sends inclement weather to us on Friday?

Gates open at 5:30. Lawn chairs will be provided. Ponchos are suggested in case of rain. It’s going to be a great night, we’ll see you there!

This is a rain or shine event! If inclement weather such as dangerous wind or lightning rolls through Live Nation will be calling the shots as far as cancelling and/or rescheduling is concerned.
