WTTS Band Together - 2009

Since 2003, 92-3 WTTS has raised tens of thousands of dollars for local school music programs, and through listener generosity, we've sent over 100 kids to local band camps to learn more about music.  WTTS Band Together aims to raise awareness for student musicians and the programs that support their dreams.

92-3 WTTS, in conjunction with Music For All, wants you to take a moment to learn about local school music programs.

How Band Together has helped....

The outcome-oriented performance targets: 78% of the students Music for All has touched from 2004 to 2008 have earned high school diplomas. This is a far greater percentage than IPS’s total graduation rate of 30.5 percent.  Furthermore, according to Keith White, District Director of Instrumental Music for IPS, the 2008 graduation rate for senior music students in IPS was 98.9 percent. Based on these statistics, feedback from educators and recurring participation by IPS students in the IPS Marching Band Tournament and Music for All’s Annual Summer Symposium, Music for All’s outreach programs like Band Together are engaging students and contributing to keeping them in school.
